The low voltage ballasts are provided for applications where no mains available and for mobile installations. If the supply voltage goes below the limit permanently, then the ballasts switch off reliably. Thereby a frequent switch on/off can be avoided in case of discharged batteries.
The ballasts are equipped with preheat start. The filaments are preheated before the lamp is ignited. That treats the lamp with care and prolongs the lamp life at numerous switches.
By means of modern microcontrollers, the ballasts offer enormous advantages in comparison to the previous versions like:
- monitoring temperature
- monitoring limits supply voltage
- monitoring end of lamp life
- failure display by blinking LED
- exact preaheating of electrodes at every start
- potential free relay contact
